Thailand Bail Success: How Thailand Bail Was Able to Bail Out 2 Defendants When Others Could Not

As you have been reading Thailand Bail’s other posts and success stories, you have seen that Thailand Bail specializes in taking on difficult and challenging criminal cases in Bangkok, Koh Samui, Udon Thani, and the rest of Thailand. Our success story today is taken from a case we just completed after a challenging situation presented to us in the Koh Samui Provincial Court. Two defendants had been in the Koh Samui Prison for over 1 month when they hired a different lawyer based in Bangkok to handle their bail. The charge they had was collectively committing theft, as well as being in Thailand illegally. For Thailand Bail, this is a fairly routine and straightforward bail case, which we could have taken care of quickly. However, the other lawyer failed to bail out the two defendants and that was that. We were then asked to step in and assist with the bail. As you know by now reading Thailand Bail’s website, once the court says ‘no’ one time, it may use this as a reason to say ‘no’ again. Thus began our latest bail challenge in the courts of Thailand.

The Koh Samui Provincial Court

We got copies of all of the court documents and studied them intently, trying to understand what the court needed to see to grant bail. As we thought, our first bail application was rejected since the other lawyer had already blocked this from happening by failing to get bail at the first attempt. However, we did not give up and continued to review the case files, meet with the police investigator in the case, and also hold a meeting with the prosecutor in the case. These are things that no one else had done, but this is the right thing to do for all cases, so our Thai lawyers and case managers do it for each and every case we take on. Thailand Bail’s fees are sometimes higher than Thai lawyers, but the level of service and completeness in our work are well worth it. Whilst other lawyer in Thailand just say “trust me,” Thailand Bail explains each step in the bail process to our clients so that they know what is going on with their friend or family member while we complete the bail process.

For this particular case in Koh Samui, we requested additional documentation from the families of the defendants and also had meetings with the injured party. We then worked through a holiday weekend to complete the petitions and supporting documentation for the Appeals Court bail process, which we initiated. This is another difference between Thailand Bail and other law firms. Our holidays and weekends are second priority to your case. If we need to work through the weekend to get something done, we do it. We know that each hour spent in a Thai prison is like one day on the outside. After completing all the necessary documents, we lodged our petitions with the Appeals Court and later that week they approved our request. Needless to say, our clients were extremely happy with the positive result we achieved with the bail process, as their loved ones were going to be released after 48 long days in prison. “Thank you so so much!!! This is the best news I have heard in a long time,” wrote the sister of one of the defendants. This joy and relief is why Thailand Bail continues to work in this industry.

As our name suggests, we started out focusing on bail and becoming experts at the bail process in Thailand. However, as time passed, almost all of our clients were so happy with the professional level of service we provided to them that they asked us to manage their criminal cases in the courts of Thailand. Thailand Bail has expertise in almost every court in the country, and currently manage criminal cases in the Koh Samui Provincial Court, Bangkok Criminal Court, Bangkok South Criminal Court, Bangkok Civil Court, Bangkok Municipal Court, Bangkok South Municipal Court, Minburi Provincial Court, Thonburi Provincial Court, Phuket Provincial Court, Pattaya Provincial Court, Chonburi Provincial Court, Udon Thani Provincial Court, Mukdahan Provincial Court, Chiang Mai Provincial Court, Hua Hin Provincial Court, Surat Thani Provincial Court, Appeals Court Region 1, 4, 7, 8, and several others.
